Advice needed for my Digilux 2 please...

Hello all, I'm new to this and haven't really had a look around the site yet. Forgive me if any of this is bad etiquette...
The fixed lens on my digilux 2 is loose and I can hear something rattling around inside. I'm quite handy and good with fixing fiddly things, anyone have any advice or wisdom/knowledge to share with me please. Or should I just send it orf to be fixed? I'm a little broke at the mo though...

The Digilux 2 isn't a Four Thirds or Micro Four Thirds type of camera. It's a Leica-branded version of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LC1, a digital camera in the style of a Leica rangefinder of old, using a 2/3rds inch sensor and having a non-interchangeable zoom lens. The Digilux 3 is a Four Thirds DSLR. I know some members here own or have owned these cameras and they might be able to help. If not, I recommend Luton Cameras for out of warranty repairs in the UK.

I once owned a Digilux 2 (wish I still did!) and the sensor failed after 5 years. On the advice of a Leica dealer I sent it off to Leica Germany and it was repaired free of charge even though it was well outside the warranty. My advice is to seek the advice of a Leica Premier Dealer before you commit to any expense.

This is a good tip! I know someone at Leica UK and will ask for advice...
