Re: Panasonic LEICA DG MACRO-ELMARIT 45mm F2.8 Lens
It's a fine general purpose lens. It has a limit switch for faster focusing when not doing macro. After all, the name on the front of the lens is Leica:) That being said, if you don't want the macro...

OT! Warning!!!!!What happened with GH2 vs E-M5 samples?
Ed, do you now own and run this forum? I must have missed the sale announcement.
As for paid brand trolls do you actually know the legal meaning of slander?
And why are comments like that...

Re: 14-42 lens lock issue
Sounds normal to me. But even if it isn't I wouldn't consider a reason to return the lens. If the pictures come out OK and satisfy you, don't sweat the small stuff.

Re: What happened with GH2 vs E-M5 samples?
Ed, if the reports bother you just buy a flipping GH2. It's a wonderful camera, and cheap these days. Just don't draw broad conclusions from statistically insignificant sample sizes. OK? Engineers...

Re: What happened with GH2 vs E-M5 samples?
In the famed way of Amazon reviews I'd bet some of the 1-stars are people who expected the camera by a certain date and didn't get it or it in some way arrived that they thought defective. Such...

Very nice site Hal! Well worth a visit by everyone. There's a lot of work invested there. I do love the parrot (?) head shot in the slideshow. Keep it up. BZ

You could well be right about the ducks. They can go wherever they please. As for Triffids, I believe the anoles (lizards) who actually own that patch of vegetation eat them happily. But thanks for...

Unknown orchid
This popped up in our mini-orchid-jungle a week or so ago. I can't recall seeing it before and I sure can't remember either one of us buying it. It looks sort of like a hybrid to me. About 3 inch...

As a former scientist, I have to inform you that computers run faster up in Canada where it's cold than down here in Florida where it's usually a bit warmer.Of course, I suspect the speed...

Re: Phew.......I've done it.
Sounds like you did yourself a very good deed.
I can tell you from experience that the 100-300 and the GH2 are a great combo. Used it them the day I got 100-300 to shoot my picture of "me" next...

Re: FS - Leica D Summilux 25mm F1.4
Good grief. I have a 43 25mm Summilux and I'm considering selling it too to replace it with the m43 version. Yes, the 43 has spectacular IQ, but I have other slightly slower and much lighter lens...

No, no. You got it wrong. These guys aerate the lawn so the Bermuda grass will actually grow. They also fertilize as they work. The big black birds, some with red heads, keep the lawns and roads...

What's wrong with American hospitals
A sweet grandmother telephoned Lee Memorial Hospital (my nearest), and timidly asked, “Is it possible to speak to someone who can tell me how a patient is doing?”
The operator said, “I'll be glad...

Re: Whats your top 5 micro four thirds lenses?
I find I only ever use three lenses these days. The 100-300 stays on the GH-2, and the 45/f1.8 stays on the E-PL3. The 14-140 is used now and then, often for video. Other lenses see rare use.

Great shots, particularly 2 and 3. I feel the first one is too busy (yeah, I now), but my eye sees two distinct areas that the shot grabs: the top and bottom. You've got a nice range here but maybe...
