Re: Blossom - Feathers - Scales

Great job capturing the duck and geese. The kingfishers are nice too. It's too bad they're so small! We need that upcoming 300mm f/4 . . .

Re: Hello

There's an Olympus 60mm macro lens. Is that the one you're thinking of?

And there are many options for an upgrade over the GX1 that provide higher resolution and better image quality, from both...

Re: Tortoiseshells

See, Olympus really should have made the lens a 50-200 or 55-210.

Re: Olympus Art Settings

I always use RAW capture to retain the most possible information for post-processing, and I use Nix Silver Efex for B&W processing, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how well the camera converted to...

Re: Tortoiseshells

The 40-150 did very well, I'd say, and the processing looks good to me. Were these with the teleconverter? (The EXIF data report 190 and 210 mm.)

Excellent captures! It must be nice to get so close to some willing feathered subjects.

Re: Some birds seen around Govetts Leap.

Very nice! I especially like the little grey and yellow bird. It reminds me of the Pekin Robins at the zoo near me. I take it the E-M1/50-200 SWD combination is working well for you?

Re: FTU 171st FTU Salon Theme: Phone Boxes

I'd like to enter, but I can't think of anywhere near me that still has phone boxes. I could find some port-a-johns that are a similar shape. :o

Re: A dragon eating the sun

Great dragon (and sun/moon) photos! All we got in the sky above my house was clouds and rain. It's fun to see the pictures since I couldn't see it in person. At least I was safe from hungry dragons....

Re: Best Print Size for Four Thirds

Re: 50-200SWD E-M1 combo again after firmware update

Thank you for the little test, Ian. These images certainly look sharp and in focus. Can you comment on the AF speed of the E-M1/50-200 SWD? And were you using single or continuous AF?

Re: Olympus unveils OM-D E-M5 Mark II

Re: Olympus unveils OM-D E-M5 Mark II

This is a beautiful camera, and the upgrades to the construction, specs, and interface look excellent. But the lack of PDAF is a terrible mistake, IMO, and it's a deal-breaker for me. My biggest...
