Re: Would not take shot

I'm not really familiar with the G5, so I can only guess what might be going on . . . it may have something to do with the autofocus settings. In single AF mode, cameras typically won't take a photo...

Re: Wild Plants

Very nice set, Paul. I especially like the backlighting in #2. I wish you had taken advantage of the 60 macro and taken some much closer images of the backlit flowers!

Re: Train-ing Wheel

I prefer color for this one because of the great colors reflected by the wheel. I do wish that the grass weren't so saturated, though. It tends to draw my attention away from the wheel.

Re: Some pics at last

Good thing the world is still round so we don't fall off the edge. :) I'm not usually one for architecture, but I really like some of your photos of the buildings among the mountains.

Re: 50-200 with the Em-1

It's great to hear that the firmware update (1.4) for the E-M1 makes a significant difference. I tried the 50-200 SWD on an E-M1 in a shop a couple of months ago, and though it was a big improvement...

Re: Olympus iShare

It would definitely be nice if Olympus built in this capability. But someone else has already created a device/app that does it--Triggertrap: http://triggertrap.com/products/triggertrap-mobile/

Re: Rainforest Critique

I entered a 16x20" print of the photo above, and one other, in the photo contest. This one was accepted into the gallery show, but the other was not. I was confused because I thought that the other...

Re: The many faces of Tessane Chin

I hadn't checked the EXIF data, Ian, so I didn't realize how high the ISO was for some of these. Certainly noise is one of the image quality issues, which makes sense given the high ISO. This also...

Re: The many faces of Tessane Chin

The image quality is a bit disappointing, but you did a great job capturing attractive poses and the general atmosphere of the concert. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Electronic 1st curtain.

That's a dramatic difference in the bird photo, Cristof. Thank you for the detailed testing you posted on DPReview. Very informative.

One question: what does the "short shutter delay" setting do?...

Re: Set camera to shoot raw format

Is it possible that your hand or some other object is getting too close to the viewfinder? That could activate the eye sensor, which shuts off the rear screen and activates the display in the EVF.

Re: Rainforest Critique

Thank you for the feedback. This was one of my favorite compositions as well, so I was disappointed about the fogginess I ended up with. I'm thinking about having a 16x20" print made to enter this in...
