Re: E-M5 Firmware Update 2.2

I'm not familiar with some of these terms . . . what is 5 axis Sync IS, and how does it differ from dual IS? Do both use the IS in the lens and the IS in the camera in a cooperative way?

Re: No flash

Thanks for the update. Who would have considered that flash was not "silent." *LOL I wouldn't have found this on the original E-M5 because it doesn't have a silent shutter mode.

Re: No flash

I only have the original E-M5, so it may be a bit different . . . what is the camera's mode dial set to? If you're using one of the scene modes, iAuto, or art filters, the mode or ambient lighting...

Re: E-System dilemma

There have been so many improvements over the past few years, so I think you're better off with the E-M1. Image quality is much better, handling is much better, and many of the new features are truly...

Re: Change of rules for the Salon.

I for one am terrible at guessing what sort of photo a judge will like. The entry that I consider my best is often not what a competition judge prefers. Often, it seems to come down to personal...

Re: Change of rules for the Salon.

Two entries per person sounds like a good change to me. I often struggle to choose among several photos I have that fit the theme, so I'd like to be able to submit two. And as Stef said, we're...

Re: Sigma 400mm

So, will you be buying the new Olympus 300? Personally, I would like to have one, but I'm put off by the cost, which is much higher than I expected. It's hard to justify given my casual use.

Very artistic captures of the reflections in the drops. I especially like the big reflection in the second photo.

I have the Samyang 7.5mm fisheye and love it--it's quite sharp and a lot of fun. I do have to be careful about how I hold the camera because it's easy to get my fingers in the corners of the...

Re: Why?

If you use software to "de-fish" an image from a fisheye lens, you'll see that as the curved lines get unbent, a significant part of the frame gets lost--it gets cropped out of the edge to create a...
