Hi,

Does anyone has the experience of using an extension tube on their G3 cameras for macro photography? I can understand that we need to use Manual Focusing but I find it hard to get the lens to focus properly. Any quick tips and tricks to help me out here?

What lens will be best suited for this kind of combination (camera, tube & lens) when using it for macro photography?

Your kind advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and warm regards

Selling an Olympus Zuiko 50-200 SWD lens in mint condition. Sales includes everything from original package. Asking $900. I am located in Brisbane, Auchenflower. Would prefer a local sale, but would ship within Australia for actual shipping cost.

I also have the 12-60 in excellent condition which I can sell for $675. I don't have the box or paperwork for this one. I have another add for the 14-54 MKI and I will only sell either one (14-54 or 12-60)

Just selling because I am running dual systems and would like to get a D700.

Cheers,

I'm in Paris with my EM-5 and after three days I have experienced total electronic failure. It started yesterday with something I set up based on the article on DPreview - "Changing the Custom Menu C setting 'Half Way Rls With IS' to 'On' means that the preview will be stabilized when you half-press the shutter button". This was working fine for a few days, then suddenly it was not -the camera started getting confused, Shaky display, red lines across the screen (and the exposure), IS behaving erratically and camera shutting down. So I turned that off and it seemed to behave itself. Today two more failures: video not focusing, shaky display and exposure... Still shots all messed up. Camera basically dead. I'll try to post some evidence but I'm traveling with the camera and an iPod, so it might be difficult. it's a real mess and I'm so very disappointed. :\

Does this mean that I must shoot everything in standard mode and change the images to B&W with post-production in Photoshop??

Has anyone here used or does anyone own the Noktor SLR Magic 50mm micro 4/3 f.0.95 lens?

I'm aware that it is almost certainly a re-branded Senko VFA5095H with a M4/3 mount but, given that the Senko is not much cheaper, that doesn't worry me overly - I'm more concerned about the quality of the optics and overall quality of construction as this is not a cheap lens.

Noktor seems to have sprung from nowhere and, even weeding through the online controversy, I can't find a detailed review.

My current inclination is to go with a Zeiss Planar T* 50mm f1.7 and use a C/Y adapter, which is a cheaper option, as I can't imagine the Noktor will produce better results than the Zeiss or a Yashica ML 50mm f1.7, but I'd love an f0.95 for that very shallow DOF.

I'm in the UK and have seen that the Noktor is available from a couple of Hong Kong sellers via eBay at a (relatively!) low price, but it's still a lot more than the Zeiss & an adapter.

(Maybe Voigtländer will decide to make a 50mm M4/3 lens...)

I am still new to my Olympus E-PL1 - so bare with me...
The default of Olympus E-PL1 Auto Iso starts with 200 Iso - the manual starts with 100 Iso. I can recall that some say the 200 Iso has a better Dynamic Range.
I have tried to compare the two option outdoors in a clear bright sunny day, and it seems as the 200 Iso images are more grainy and "dirty" look over all the image, mainly in darker areas of the image, while the 100 Iso images and cleaner. Other than this I did not notice any differences.
Any idea why and comments?
